The learner will self-report understanding of the acute and long-term physical and psychological healthcare needs of sexual assault patients across the lifespan, as well as the components of the medical forensic examination, including physical and ano-genital assessment, evidence collection, photo-documentation, prophylactic medications, collaboration with community partners, and referrals for post-assault care.

This course offers adult, adolescent, and pediatric SANE/SAFE Education adhering to the IAFN Educational Guidelines for best national practices in caring for the sexually assaulted patient. The format for the Comprehensive SAFE Education is online and can be accessed from any computer that has high-speed internet access.
The entire education is done online without requiring any travel from those who are enrolled in the program. It is offered free of charge for Colorado providers and military personnel practicing in Colorado with valid, unencumbered licenses.
