Diabetes Prevention Program

The Diabetes Prevention Program is a yearlong lifestyle change program that supports people as they work on behavior change, weight loss, and increasing physical activity with the goal to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. Research shows that participation in this lifestyle change program can reduce your chances of getting type 2 diabetes by up to 71%.

How the program works:

  • A yearlong lifestyle change program.

  • 24 one-hour group sessions- attend sessions weekly for the first few months, moving to once a month to keep you motivated

  • Lead by UCHealth Registered Dietitians who are trained Lifestyle Coaches in the Prevent T2 curriculum

  • Small group classes

  • You will learn to:

    • eat healthy

    • increase physical activity

    • change behavior and stay motivated

    • overcome personal challenges
