This Emergency Medical Technician course meets or exceeds all Colorado state and National Education Standards. It consists of 160 hours of classroom instruction plus an additional 10-hour clinical shift in the hospital. Upon completing this course, students will be eligible to test for EMT certification through the NREMT.
This class will be held in Colorado Springs every Tuesday and Thursday evening, from January 6 to May 14, 2026, between 6 pm and 10 pm, including one Saturday TBD.
Additional documentation must be turned in with the application. This includes a shot record, a negative TB test within the past nine months, a copy of a driver's license, and a high school diploma/GED/college transcripts. A background check and drug screen are required and will be done through our office-details will be provided upon class registration.
The required textbook and workbook are Emergency Care 14+ Set, available in the EMS office for $195, or you can check Amazon for the book set.
Class fee: $1,200.00. UCH employees, military personnel, and members of EMS/fire agencies who receive medical direction through UCH are eligible for a 25% discount.
