The SANE-A Certification Review Course is an 8-hour live virtual course designed for experienced Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) who have completed the required education and substantial clinical experience and are prepared to pursue SANE-A certification when the certification examination becomes available.
The review consists of the following:
Assessment and Documentation
Evidence Collection
Patient Management
Legal Issues and the Judicial Process
Professional Practice
This is an exam review course, not a general SANE education or subject review course. The course focuses on reviewing key concepts and practice test questions to help experienced SANEs prepare for the certification examination. It is not intended for nurses who are new to SANE practice or who are still developing foundational knowledge and clinical experience. Participants should have significant experience providing SANE care and should be at or near the point of pursuing certification prior to registering for this course.
Please note that SANE-A certification examinations are currently on hold with the accrediting organizations. This course remains available to provide exam preparation for qualified SANEs while examination scheduling is unavailable.
Students are required to be on camera and actively participate throughout the duration of the course. This course is intended for exam preparation only; we do not provide SANE certification.
Because this program is funded through grants from the State of Colorado, enrollment priority is given to Colorado residents.
